grateful for confirmation that you would be content with the Hong Kong Government to enter into such an Agreement. It will be an international agreement which will in due course need to be published and registered in accordance with Article 102 of the United Nations Charter. The Agreement will not remain in
force beyond 30 June 1997.
I also enclose for your reference a copy of a letter of 31 August 1993 sent to the Commission which will give you additional background information on this matter.
As both the Commission and we are aiming at wrapping up agreement on the P and Is by end of September at the latest, your early response would be much appreciated.
