We share the Commission's desire to open the
Commission Office in Hong Kong as soon as possible.

We agree that to make this possible, flexibility
will be needed.

On this basis, we welcome the Commission's proposal
to submit a revised list of requested Privilegen
and Immunities.

We can of course agree that the Commission Office
would enjoy Privileges and Immunities available
under the relevant existing legislation (Cap 190)
together with thoas Privileges we are able to grant
on an administrative basis. In this context, it
would facilitate our consideration of what might be
granted administratively if the Commission could
supply the revised list as soon as possible.
