FUTURE CONSULATE GENERAL: PUBLICITY DURING VISITS OF FAC AND MR GOODLAD
1.
I telephoned BTC to follow up a letter I wrote on 12 August to Mr Smith-Laittan asking him to give some thought to engineering an opportunity for the FAC to see the new model of the Consulate General (I also asked for advice on publicity for the new Consulate General during Mr Goodlad's visit).
2. Mr Ford tells me that BTC intend that the FAC should see the model when they dine with Mr Cornish at the Albany.

Mr Ford mentioned that Hong Kong journalists had picked up on the demolition of the Colvin House site. Swires had therefore organised a photo opportunity which featured inter alia Mr Davies (in hard hat at controls of a large machine). This took place on 24 August. I commissioned a report from Mr
Ford.
