Doubts expressed by a visiting ISD officer over the achievability of reliable satellite communications facilities at HMG's new Mission in Hong Kong were aired at the 17 November meeting of Security Department's New Projects Liaison Committee. Although these doubts were countered by the OED representative/s at the meeting it was suggested that Hong Kong Department should be kept in the picture.
2. The highlighted paragraph (22) in the attached abstract from the minutes of that meeting refers; a copy of the visiting officer's report is also attached for information.
