HONG KONG: NEW CONSULATE GENERAL

Problem

1.

Should construction of the new Consulate General building

in Hong Kong now go ahead on the basis of current plans?

Recommendation

2.

That we should proceed with the present design as soon as we receive Treasury approval. This was the conclusion of a

meeting of the Steering Committee chaired by you on 2 July,

which considered the options presented by the MRS, and

concluded that the present design strikes the best balance in

subconsgen28.NAT
