We understand that the Director General of the British Council has not been briefed to raise this subject with Mr Goodlad.

OED is
Construction of the new British Consulate building which we shall be sharing with the British Council is due to start in April and should be finished by 1996. Both we and British Council officials have met regularly to discuss the new building at the Steering Committes chaired by Mr Hum. now in the process of submitting to Ministers to seek approval on the final design before approaching Treasury for agreement to commit PES funds.
