Dear Peter.
Your letter of 11 March to Kenneth Clarke about Lorraine Osman, presently in remand in Hong Kong, has been passed to me for reply as the Minister responsible for Hong Kong.
At the moment Mr Osman's case is in the Magistrates' Court pending transfer to the High Court. Preparations for his trial are now going forward and the Hong Kong Attorney General hopes to be in a position to bring the case to trial in the High Court, if not before the end of this year, then in the very early part of next year.
