Recent correspondence between HKD and Paris has led to the conclusion that, following Sir John Coles's conversation with Levitte and further conversations between our embassy in Paris and the Ministry of Justice, we should now wait until the end of the French elections before making any further political approaches.
2.
I see no need to trouble you with all the correspondence. The attached letter from the Attorney General's Chambers shows that everyone is agreed on tactics.

I attach a draft letter to Jeremy Mathews rounding off your correspondence with him.
4. I am taking the opportunity of this lull to pass the Saniman papers to Ms. Barrett as legal adviser to HKD where the case properly belongs.
