targeted timetable of bilateral Quai-FCO contacts (details in Macgregor's letter of July 1992) covering the following issues:
a) East/West relations exchange
of evaluation of FSU developments, economic implications, stability of region (especially of hot-spots); watch French position particularly on future of Russia;
b) CEE watching regional
stability; possible joint approaches in EC on aid to area;
c) Regular contact on diplomatic
representation in FSU and Central Europe. Watch for possibilities of shared Embassies/facilities.

2) Ability to work together on PoCo and in New York;
3) French willingness to offer practical help (e.g. evacuation from ex-French African countries);
4) Joint protection of our major shared interests. (in particular permanent membership of UN Security. Council).
