Message: I faxed to you last week a draft letter from the Secretary of State to the Hong Kong Legislative Council, in response from one from them (copied to ECD(I)). I now fax a slightly revised version to take into account MVD's comments. Look OK to you? We still don't have a return in from Athens, despite a couple of phone calls, so I have sent a chaser tel. They suggested that the man who counts on visa issues is in Brussels now, so we may have to run him to earth there. I expect that Greece, like Benelux and Italy, intend to maintain the status quo for the time being.
