Dear Mr Gee
Thank you for your letter of the 3rd December and taking the time and trouble to reply to my letter addressed originally to the Prime Minster regarding British citizenship for the widows of Hong Kong servicemen who lost their lives in the service of the Crown.
I am pleased to note that whilst there is no apparent provision in nationality law to grant British citizenship to these ladies and the Government have also indicated that should they wish to apply for entry clearance to the United Kingdom, applications will be processed very quickly.
This greatly allays my concerns.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Yours sincerely,
P CA Poole
