- Aware of misgivings in Hong Kong about having to give up BDTC passports (for BNO passports) on registration as BNO. Think these are misplaced (no question of BNO being a "second class" nationality status and anyway BNO passport holders retain BDTC status until 30 June 1997), but recognise the force of Hong Kong perceptions.
