The Chinese Government's interest is welcomed but gives raise to many questions. There may be differences on account of race in light of the fact that the Chinese do presently pleon importance on this. It is because of this that we recognize the need to push for full British Nationality. On this it is noteworthy to remind oneself that even the International Commission of Jurists in their report entitled "Countdown to 1997 Report of a Mission to Hong Kong" opined that the British Government's treatment of the affected ethnic minorities will render them effectively stateless in 1997.
