You wrote on 21 December to Richard Gozney to ask us to look
at the points scheme under which the British Nationality Scheme for Hong Kong operates. Our initial assessment is that applicants earning British link points under the scheme are well represented amongst those gaining British passports under the scheme. Before writing to you substantively, we have commissioned further assessments from the British Trade Commission in Hong Kong. This is requiring some research by them, but we plan to let you have a substantive response
within the next two weeks.
