Another note-worthy phenomenon is the good response from other
age groups. Of the 363,968 BN (O)s registered, some 40%, i.e. 145,350
applicants belong to the age groups of other phases. This means a
portion of the BN (O) registration work has been advanced to the first
phase registration period. In the light of this situation, the number of
BDTCs turn up for registration towards the latter part of the registration
phased programme will be scaled down. Given the high response rate,
additional staff resources will be required in the early part of the
