BN(0) Registration Statistics from Overseas Posts

I wrote to you some time ago to request statistics on late applications from all overseas posts and offices of the UK Paccport Agency... You subsequently issued. Telna 154 to ask overseas posts to give us statistics on late applications starting from November.

We are now reviewing our publicity strategy. To be able to assess whether the present level of publicity is sufficient, we need to have statistics of the number of applications received so far. There are also press enquiries from time en time on the number of RN(0)s registered locally and overseas. It will be very helpful if we can have monthly statistics. I should be grateful if you would request overseas posto and the UK Paccport Agency to let us have figures of applications received each month in addition to number of late applications.

To facilitate the work of overseas posts and the UK Passport Agency, the Immigration Department has drawn up a standard format which is attached. We would like the first return to cover the period from 23 July 1993 to the end of August. Thereafter, returns can be on a monthly basis. Columns III and IV of the table will only be applicable from November onwards, as we will not have any late applications before that month.

You may wish to make clear to overseas posts that there is no change to the existing procedure of sending a copy of the PN(0) passport application form to the Immigration Department after-issue of a BN (0) passport or after the adding of children to a BN (0) passport.

Thank you for your assistance.
