No other description is to be used except that where the prospective bearer is a British Dependent Territories citizen with a connection with the Falkland Islands, the normal reference to the Falkland Islands which would accompany the description of his national status should be omitted. tvped in the
Observations page with the name of the appropriate territory filled in. The word 'of' should NOT be inserted under any circumstances between the words "British Dependent Territorios citizen" and the name of the territory with which he has a connection. Where an application is received from a person who is both a British citizen and a British Dependent Territories citizen or a British National (Overseas), the description of national status to be shown on page 1 of the form should normally be British citizen. However, where the applicant specifically requests that his national status should be shown as British Dependent Territories citizen or a British National (Overseas), this description should be rubber stamped on page 1 of the form (see also para 6.1.12 sub para 14 and 15). In such cases 'lookalike' passports, not CFPs, should be issued. Where the applicant is a British Dependent Territories citizen and has a connection with more than one territory, the name of the one with which he has the closest connection should be used in the description unless the applicant specifically requests the use of another. If the applicant requests that reference to more than one territory be made in his passport, Nationality and Treaty Department should be consulted.
(14.) Where the prospective bearer is both a British citizen and a British Dependent Territories citizen or a British National (Overseas), and his national status on the data page is to be shown as British citizen, but only if he requests it: 'Holder of the passport is also a British Dependent Territories citizen' or a "British National (Overseas)". No reference to the dependent territory with which the holder is connected should be made in these circumstances.
(15.) Where the prospective bearer is both a British citizen and a British Dependent Territories citizen, and exceptionally requests that his national status should be shown as British Dependent Territories citizen: "Holder is also a British citizen". In these circumstances the 'lookalike' passport only is to be issued. See Appendix 11 for appropriate immigration status.
