Overseas BN(0) Applications
I attach herewith a letter from a LegCo
member, Edward S.T. Ho, to Emily/as the Chairman of the LegCo Sub-committee on Nationality, on difficulties overseas BDTCs met with when applying for BN(0) passports. We answered some of his points at the last meeting of the Sub-committee, but we could not respond on your behalf to the suggestion that BDTC passports be returned to applicants as soon as verification has been completed. I should be grateful if you would consider whether the suggestion is workable and let me have your views for replying to the Sub-committee. My view is that the suggestion is sensible, but applicants who want to have their BDTC passports back early should specify their request and send a return envelop with sufficient postage together with the application form.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
