Thank you for your letter of 24 May about the Hong Kong Legislative Council Delegation's visit to London on 8 10 June.
g
I should have been happy to see them, but I regret my other commitments on those days mean that a meeting will not be possible.
I appreciate the importance to Hong Kong of the issues which the delegation wants to talk about and I shall be interested to read their position paper. I understand that they will be able to discuss their concerns with the two Ministers most directly responsible, Mr Goodlad in the FCO and Mr Wardle in the Home Office. I am
sure they will listen carefully to the points the delegation put to them and will take due account of their views.
Yours sincerely,
