As I mentioned to you on the telephone, the Secretary of state has decided to try to transpose his Far East visit to the week before Easter.

This would enable him to arrive in Hong Kong (with his own aircraft) on the morning of 28 March. He would then leave on 29 March, probably in the afternoon, for Hanoi.
3. Grateful to know whether this would be convenient for the Governor. Most of the programme elements suggest themselves. But if you had any thoughts on priorities for the Secretary of State's time in Hong Kong, it would be helpful to have them by 15 December. We are asked to report back to the Secretary of State by next weekend.
