approached
and
various HK/British offices for
for the visit, leading to much confusion
The offices approached included:-
(a) the FCO by the Czech Embassy in London;
(b) the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in
Brussels by the Mission of the Czech
Republic to the European Community in Brussels;

While we appreciate that the Czechs were keen to secure all possible assistance for the visit, the pre-visit arrangements could have been sorted out much more effectively if only one
channel were used.
3.
The Czechs' arrival was delayed by Typhoon Koryn and their private jet eventually landed Hong Kong around noon, Monday, 28 June 1993. They departed at 7:00 pm on same day as
scheduled.
