Daya Bay
Pleased that the teams of Hong Kong and Guangdong negotiators
were able to reach agreement on the exchange of information concerning Daya Bay. Believe that the agreement is a good one
fully meeting Hong Kong's requirements.
Chong Kwee Sung
Have raised this case myself with the Chinese Ambassador in
London. Hope that the Chinese Government will act to clarify
his detention, which appears to be in contravention of Chinese
law since he has been held for over two years without being
charged.
Han Dongfang
- Regret the Chinese decision to expel Han. I note that this view is shared by many in Hong Kong. Some have been concerned that this case is a precedent for the freedom of travel of Hong
Kong residents after 1997. I have noted the rejections of this
by Chinese officials. Believe the best way to restore
confidence would be to permit Mr Han to return to China.
