We have not given any information to the SCMP on the proposed package of benefits for HMOCS. I cannot comment on the accuracy or otherwise of the article.
As the compensation scheme is almost finalised, can consultations be held on this element separate from the
sterling pension safeguard scheme?
No. It has always been our intention to consult the
Association on a package of benefits. [Speaking personally, I imagine the HMOCS would want to see the
whole package before commenting on any one element.]

When will these consultations take place?
The timing will depend upon when work is completed on the proposed pension safeguard scheme. I cannot say when that
will be.

What problems still have to be resolved and why is it
taking so long?
Can't go into details, but there are a number of policy
and technical issues which still need to be resolved
within Whitehall before Ministers can consider a firm
proposal.
