Total cost of the project is $10 billion in 1991 prices which is equivalent to $12.6 billion in Money of the Day.

than 80% of the funds have already been approved by LegCo and eight major engineering contracts totalling about $7 billion already under way for completion by 1993-95. These are :
Three for Yau Ma Tei replacement typhoon shelter
Two for Northern Area and Jordan Road Reclamation
One for Cheung Sha Wan Wholesale Market
One for drainage
One for road extension.

35% : Transport Infrastructure to the new airport (Airport Railway, West Kowloon Expressway, Western Harbour Crossing)
6% Residential; 8% : Industrial; 2% : Commercial
24% : Government and Urban Council facilities
including schools, clinics, fire services, and other
services
8% : Comprehensive Development Area; 17% : Open space.
