The Garrison
16. At the Governor's request the MOD have reconsidered a
faster run-down of the garrison in order to secure agreement
from the Legco Finance Committee to meet the shortfall in
this year's funding and to ensure a steeper slope to the reduction in the Defence Cost Agreement. This is attractive to the MOD as it would release forces to meet other military requirements.
