I have seen your letter of 13 December to
Frankfurt. I too am very grateful to Frankfurt for drawing this article to our attention. I am afraid that it is all too likely that the German Consul-General made these remarks. It is certainly his view that the rule of law here is doomed and I have heard him make the point to various visitors.
