Chinese people. We hope increasing mutual trust, reducing trouble, promoting
cooperation and seeking no confrontation with USA. When the both sides comply strictly
with all principles included in the three Joint Communiques between China and
USA, Sino-US relations will certainly make progress along the normal orbit.
China holds that the international situation characterized by confrontations between
two super-powers is to be superseded by multiple-polarity. Such a fact has been
proved by the new development that it is unreasonable and unrealistic if any super-
power or several powers want to overlord the whole world and want to have the say in
every bit of international affairs. The international relations requires being democra-
tized. All nations, big or small, strong or weak, rich or poor, are members of
international society on equal footing. The relationship among all countries and
the new order of international politics and economy could only be founded upon mutual
respect, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, equality, mutual benefit
and cooperation.
China seeks friendly and cooperative relations with all other nations based upon
the five principles for peaceful co-existence but on those problems related with
national interest and sovereignty, China can do nothing but make strong response to
them. China wages reasonable, justified and limited struggle against a small number
of nations which are selling weapons to Taiwan, trying to manufacture so-called !
A China and A Taiwan and put pressure on China under the pretext of so-called
human rights
I and such problems as
, Tibet ' and 'Hongkong "
to interfere with the internal affaris of China and to go against their own commitments
and obligations. Our such efforts have safeguarded the sovereignty and dignity of

Being a permanent member of the UN Security Council, China takes active part in the
UN affairs, exercises diplomacy with all countries and expands further its influence
in the international society. China has done positively to push forward political
solutions to regional conflicts and international disputes. China is against such
stand as imposing sanctions and resorting to force easily wherever any problem
crops up. Such an advocate has won understanding and praises of most nations throughout
the world.

officially Treaty for Non-proliferating Nuclear Weapons and has made positive
contribution to The Pact for Banning Development, Production Storage and
Deployment of All Chemical Weapons and Destroying All Such Weapons '. On the problems
of arms cut and control, China proposed the principle of ' justice, reasonableness,
all-sidedness and balance', reflecting the wish of most countries and developing
countries. China also participated in activities aiming at protecting ecological
environment, promoting economic cooperation and development in the world and
organized by UN Ecological and Development Conference and Asian and the Pacific
