1. The Times of 23 January reported that Lo Fu had been released from 10 years house arrest to Hong Kong. He had been imprisoned for passing state secrets to the Americans. asked about his antecedents.

2. Lo Fu first arrived in Hong Kong in 1951 and worked under various aliases for communist organs in Hong Kong, ending in 1983 as editor of the Communist owned New Evening Post. He is the father of Luo Haixing who was himself arrested. Lo was able to see his son in prison shortly before the latter's release, which indicates that his house arrest was not too harsh.

3. Luo Haixing was a BDTC, Lo's nationality is unknown. fact that he was recalled to Peking before his arrest suggests that he remained a PRC passport holder.
4. You may have noticed that the official who leaked a copy of Jiang Zemin's speech to a Hong Kong Journalist was recently sentenced to 15 Years imprisonment and his wife to 7 years.
