I refer to Mr. Bradley's letter to you of 24 January 1992 in which he said wo would pass on whatever further information we received on your husband's case.
The Chinese authorities have now provided us with the following information. They confirm that your husband, Mr. Tsim Tai Hing, was detained on 27 May 1990 and formally arrested on 6 June in the same year. He was charged with espionage and sentenced to 24 years' imprisonment. He was released from prison in late 1992 after serving his sentence and was subsequently found to be engaged in smuggling activities. As a result, he was arrested on 26 November 1992 and his case is now in the hands of the court.
We have asked to be informed of any further details when they become available. We will then pass on any further information we receive.
