LETTER FROM MRS ELSIE TU: CORRUPTION
1. In her most recent letter to Mr Goodlad, Elsie Tu made the allegation that due to the concentration of all in Hong Kong Government circles on political and constitutional issues, nobody is doing anything about the growing corruption which has the potential to be the biggest danger to democracy in Hong Kong post-1997. We more or less ignored the point in our reply, but it would be useful to have some ammunition to counter charges of this nature in future letters. We would be grateful for any points which we can make, eg concerning any recent strengthenings of the ICAC, any forthcoming reviews or legislation, etc. Thanks a lot for your help.
