Adaptation of Laws 'Crown' in relation to land
Report of Working Group
Introduction
At a meeting on 2 June 1992 convened by DS/L&P, PELB, the problem of how to adapt the Laws of Hong Kong in respect of "the Crown" in relation to land was discussed. It was agreed that a Working Group would be convened by DPCC/LALU to discuss the detailed implications and to report back to a full meeting.

At its first meeting the Working Group appointed a sub-group, consisting of Mr. Wilson, Miss Wu and Ms Lo, to go through all relevant Ordinances, to identify the legal problems which would arise if all references to "the Crown" in relation to land were to be changed, and to advise whether a distinction between "the Crown" as owner of land and "the Crown" as manager of land would be feasible.

The sub-group met on 4 occasions to go through all relevant Ordinances and duly reported to the Working Group. The recommendations in this Report are those of the Working Group, but since this Report was not seen by all members of the Working Group before being presented, individual members may differ from some of its conclusions.
