This validates certain marriages celebrated in Hong Kong during Worl War II. The British side proposes to adapt it as follows

Foreign Marriage Ordinance (Cap. 180). This gives effect in Hong Kong
the United Kingdom Foreign Marriage Acts which
facilitate the celebration of marriages of British subjects outside
the United Kingdom. The British side proposes to repeal this
Ordinance as having no relevance after 1 July 1997.
OTHER MATTERS
NO authentic Chinese text of Cap. 258 has yet been
published. The British side will further consult the Chinese side if
other adaptation issues arise in respect of these four Ordinances, including any new issues that may arise out of the authentic Chinese
text of Cap. 258 when it is published.
