Requirements and conditions applying to public meetings
(1) At every public meeting
(a) there shall be present throughout the meeting
either the person who has organized the meeting
or, if he is not present, a person nominated by
him to act in his place;
(b)
good order shall be maintained throughout the
meeting;
(c)
amplification devices shall only be usęd
(i) to address the meeting, to maintain
order or to ensure safety at the
meeting; and
(ii)
in a manner so as not to cause
annoyance to the general public;
(a)
control of any amplification device (whether or
not in use at the time) shall be surrendered to
any police officer where required by the police
officer for the purpose of securing or
maintaining public order and safety or
protecting the rights and freedoms of others.
(2) Subject to subsection (1), the Commissioner of Police
may, where he considers it necessary for the protection of the
interests set out in section 9(1), impose conditions in respect
of any public meeting notified under section 8 relating to the
time at which such public meeting may be held and, in the case
of a public meeting intended to be held in a place other than a
designated public area, the conduct of such public meeting; and
notice of any condition so imposed shall be given in writing to
the person by whom such public meeting is so notified or any
