At Lady Thatcher's request I undertook to fax to her office the texts of the recent EC statement on Tibet, and of the EC statement on the Dalai Lama and the conference due to be issued in Vienna shortly. I should. be grateful if you could let me have immediate copies of both.

For good measure Lady Thatcher said she hoped there would be no question of letting Germany and Japan into the UN Security Council. World War were much too recent.
