NOTIFICATION OF ASIASAT-1 TO THE UN
We spoke briefly last week about ascertaining whether Asiasat-1 has been registered with the UN in New York.
We are required by the 1974 Convention on Registration of Objects Launched into Outer Space to supply the Secretary-General of the UN with specified particulars - as attached.
I need to know
i) whether it has been notified to the UN
ii) who by - us or Hong Kong?
Would you also put in a request for us to receive copies of notifications to the UN of objects launched into outer space made by the UK.
