is usually calculated on outstanding claims. It would be useful for our Nationality, Treaty and Claims Department

(NTCD) to have a contact addressee in Legal Department of HKG so that these technical matters can be discussed directly if and when the need arises. We will need to take into account the views of the next-of-kin, on whose behalf we are claiming, but we will also need to ensure that our claim is in accordance with the principles of Hong Kong law and consistent with our previous claim. This can all be discussed in detail if the need arises.

On a small point, and if the information is to hand, perhaps you could let us know how many of the thirteen Hong Kong victims of the disaster were BDTCs or British Citizens.
