Amendment to the Hong Kong/Netherlands ASA

As the Chinese side will recall, the first

separated Air Services Agreement (ASA) was signed by Hong

Kong acting under a specific authorization from the UK

Government, and by the Netherlands on 17 September 1986.

Unlike subsequent ASAS, the Route Schedule Annex

to the Hong Kong/Netherlands ASA did not provide for beyond

points to be served. That was because no such requirement

was foreseen at that time.

More

authorities have

the

addition of

Kong/Netherlands

recently,

requested,

however,

the

Netherlands

and Hong Kong have agreed to,

a provision for beyond points to the Hong

ASA Route Schedule to enable the airlines

of both sides to develop their routes. It is therefore

proposed to amend the ASA to bring the Route Schedule into

conformity with those in other Hong Kong ASAS.
