only way to preserve them, because the Taiwanese authorities are likely to look with less favour on operations by Japanese airlines through Taiwan to Hong Kong under a PRC ASA (ålso involving a stop on the mainland: sub para (a)(ii) above refers) than under a Hong Kong ASA.
