introduction of further RNAV routing;
review of any problems arising from the application of the secondary surveillance radar (SSR) code assignment plan in the ASIA/PAC Regions;
review of the progressive introduction of the system of repetitive flight plans;
adoption of certain principles to reduce the occurrence of interception of civil aircraft; and
arrangements relating to airspace reservation and optimised use of airspace.
Pursuant to Assembly Resolution A27-10, Appendix P, Associated Practices 1 and 3, the meeting is expected to examine matters pertaining to the common use of airspace by civil and military aviation and to determine any changes required to the current provisions of the air navigation plan in the interests of the safety, regularity and efficiency of international air traffic.

The meeting should also consider any proposals for amendment of the air navigation plan or regional supplementary procedures that have been circulated to States prior to the meeting, but in respect of which objections have been raised and not resolved.

Item 7. Search and rescue (SAR) services
12.1
The Meeting is expected to review the plan for search and rescue regions (SRRs) and the requirements for search and rescue facilities and services in the area and to determine the amendments required in the light of changes proposed in paras 10.2 and 10.3 above. In particular, an overall review of the plan is required to take into account changes in operational requirements and the need for compatibility with maritime SAR plans currently under development by the International Maritime Organization. Such a review would include additional planning for the use of satellite technology in the provision of SAR, and a review of existing regional agreements for the facilitation of entry and exit of SAR personnel and equipment between adjoining States.

Item 8. Aeronautical meteorological offices and their functions and
meteorological observation networks
The meteorological services provided at international aerodromes (Table MET 1) will have to be reviewed with the objective of meeting the needs of all aeronautical users through the increasing application of centralization, taking into consideration the developments which have taken place since the ASIA/PAC/2 RAN Meeting (1983) in relation to the pattern of aircraft operations. Such review will include:

changes to MET services in the light of changes to the AOP and ATS Plans recommended under Agenda Items 2 to 7 inclusive;
requirements for World Area Forecast System (WAFS) data in the ASIA and PAC Regions;
