It is unfortunate that in the event Secretary Garcia was unable to call on Secretary for Economic Services (SES) as promised. SES would be pleased to rearrange the meeting in the w/c 10 Jan but could not at this stage offer a firm date due to other outstanding commitments pending confirmation. Grateful if Manila could obtain Garcia's firm itinerary and we would then find a suitable slot for the meeting. If it turns out that SES is not available, Deputy Secretary will meet him instead.
