Hong Kong/Thailand Air Services Agreement.
Hong Kong/Thailand air services consultations were held in Hong Kong on 6 and 7 December and resulted in:
(a) confirmation of text of draft Hong Kong/Thailand ASA tentatively agreed in December 1990;
2.
(b) conclusion of a Hong Kong/Thailand CMU.
The Thais are amenable to the administrative application of the relevant provisions under the UK/Thailand ASA until the Hong Kong/Thailand ASA can be signed. Details of this proposal are being sent by fax to Tokyo (for Fielder) and to London (for Othick and Hall). Grateful for this to be pursued with the Thais at the UK/Thailand talks in Bangkok on 14 and 15 December. Proposed effective date is 1 January 1994.
3. We will shortly send you the usual explanation of ASA textual differences for clearance prior to handing over with the ASA to the Chinese.
