Memorandum of Understanding

on Cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong on matters concerning an off site nuclear emergency at the Guangdong Nuclear Power Station

After a first meeting held on 18-19 June 1992 between Delegations from the two sides, specific issues were discussed between expert groups in a series of meetings held between October 1992 and September 1993. The consensus reached between the expert groups was confirmed by a second Delegation meeting held between 20-22 September 1993 and the two sides reached the following understanding:

The two sides will now begin to cooperate in accordance with the terms of the consensus papers settled by the expert groups set out in Annexes A-G to this Memorandum.

This Memorandum is signed in duplicate in Hong Kong on 22 September 1993 in the English and Chinese Languages, both texts having equal validity.
