13th UN Regional Cartographic Conference for Asia and the Pacific, May 1994

Hong Kong Government representatives have received from the UN (Chief of the Physical Infrastructure and Transport Branch STEENRD/DESD) invitations to participate in this Conference (copy of letter of July 6, 1993 attached). This is supported by the Secretary-General's invitation dated 10 June 1993, to the UK to attend the Conference scheduled to be held in Beijing on 10-18 May 1994. Hong Kong has been represented at this Regional Conference since 1964 and intends to attend the 13th meeting as before.
Our representatives will be Mr G.A. Andreassend (Principal Government Land Surveyor), Mr S.C. Leung (Government Land Surveyor), and Mr H. Chan (Chief Land Surveyor). We shall decide later whether a hydrographer should be included in the delegation!
We should be grateful if you would inform the Secretary- General accordingly. As in the past, our representatives will sit apart from the UK delegation, using the "Hong Kong" name plate. This should not present a problem, given our status as an associate X
member of ESCAP.
