SUBSCRIPTION TELEVISION COPYRIGHT PROTECTION
1.
Please see the attached letter from Olivia Nip which states firmly that Hong Kong ddes not agree with the advice given in my letter of 13 August (copy attached).
My letter
was, as you know, cleared by you, the DTI legal adviser and the DTI policy unit concerned.

Clearly we cannot leave this letter unanswered, and in any case, the Trade and Industry Branch of the Hong Kong Government will be taking the matter up with us.
Can you please give me any help in the line I should take in my reply to Olivia Nip?

To perhaps complicate matters still further, yesterday I received
a letter from Mrs Sullivan in the Patent Office (copy attached). Today, I sent a facsimile letter (copy attached) to Hong Kong seeking their advice on the points raised by Mrs Sullivan. Unfortunately, this crossed (by minutes) with Olivia Nip's letter.
