1. Thank you for your letter of 15 September. As agreed, I wrote to the Recreation and Culture Branch of the Hong Kong Government to ask what is planned for October in the way of cable television and for further clarification of the copyright problem. I have now received the attached reply from Olivia Nip. I hope it provides you with sufficient information to enable you to reply to the IFPI, but if it does not please let me know.

I have also received the enclosed letter dated 11 October from Rachel Cartland which spells out the legal steps Hong Kong propose to take more comprehensively. However, please note that Hong Kong have classified this letter as confidential. I have really only enclosed it for your own information.
