INTERNATIONAL LABOUR ORGANISATION (ILO): 1993 ARTICLE 22

REPORTS

1. Each year the United Kingdom is required under Article 22 of the ILO Constitution to submit reports on the application of various ratified ILO conventions whose provisions have been extended to certain Dependent Territories. We have now received the formal letter from the ILO requesting the reports due in 1993 from Hong Kong.

2.

I attach the documentation which should be sent to Hong Kong. It consists of:

Appendix I: List of Conventions due for reporting by Hong Kong.

Appendix II: Additional information requested by the ILO Committee of Experts;

Report Forms for each specific Convention; and

Guidance Notes for the completion of reports.

3. The Committee of Experts have again found it necessary to express their concern over the lateness of the reports required under Article 22. I should therefore be grateful if you would ask Hong Kong to complete their reports as quickly as possible and return them to us in good time. The Department of Employment have asked that they receive the reports no later than 27 August; may we please have them, then, by 23 August at

the latest?
