the generation, transformation, and tranemission of electricity or motive power of any kind;

(e)

any construction work;

(f)

article.

the loading; unloading, or handling of goods or cargo at any dock, quay, wharf, warehouse or airport;

() the carriage of coal, building materials

or debris;

(h)

(i)

the transport of passengers or goods by road, rail, cableway or aerial ropeway; and

any premises or site in or upon which, and the machinery, plant, tools, gear and materials with which, any of the foregoing industrial undertakings is carried on.

No exemptions have been granted under paragraph 3 of this

Article 2

Under section 2 of the Employment Ordinance, as amended by the Employment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance 1979, a young person" means, with effect from 1st September 1980, a person who has attained the age of 15 years but not the age of 18 years. Eight copies of the Employment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance are attached herewith.

Regulation 8(1)(b) of the Women and Young Persons (Industry) Regulations made under the Employment Ordinance stipulates that young persons shall not be employed earlier than 7 a.m. or later than 7 p.m. However, young persons aged 16 and 17 are permitted to work up to 11 p.m. in the case of shift work approved under Regulation 11(1). Registered apprentices are not allowed to work earlier than 7 a.. or later than 7 p.m. Please see the answer to article 3.

Different intervals for different areas, industries, undertakings or their branches have not been prescribed under paragraph 3 of this article.
