Report for the period 1 July 1987 to 30 June 1991 on the application in Hong Kong of the
MINIMUM AGE (INDUSTRY) CONVENTION (REVISED), 1937 (NO. 59) under the labour Standards (Non-Metropolitan Territories) Convention, 1947 (No.83)
This convention has been applied with modification in Hong Kong by a declaration registered by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on 27 March 1950. The modification was improved by a further declaration registered by
by the ILO on 23 December 1980. The declarations were communicated
ILO by the United Kingdom Government in connection with the ratification of the Labour Standards (Non-Metropolitan Territories) Convention, 1947 (No. 83).
A full report was submitted by the Government of Hong Kong in 1983 and an amendment report in 1987. For the period under review, the position has remained unchanged except as follows :
QUESTION I
Replace the second sentence by the following:
"Three copies of (a) were attached to the report on Convention No. 81 for the period ending 30 June 1987. Three copies of (b) and its amendments were attached respectively the reports on Convention No. 105 for the period ending 30 June 1989 and Convention No. 101 for the period ending 30 June 1990. Three copies of (c) and its amendments were attached respectively to the reports on Convention No..81 for the period ending 30
1985 and Convention No. 82 for the period ending 30 June 1986. Three copies of (e) were attached to the report on Recommendation No. 150 for the period ending 31 December 1990. Three copies of (d), (f) and (g) were attached to the report on this convention for the period ending 30 June 1987. Subsequent amendments of (f) were attached to the report on Convention No. 97 for the period
period ending 30 June 1990. Subsequent amendments of (a), (b), (c), (d) and (g) are attached to the current report on Convention No. 10."
QUESTION II
Article 3
Replace the last sentence of the third paragraph by the following: "For technical institutes and vocational training centres, the normal age of admission is between 14 18 years.
"
Article 4
Delete "photograph" and "residential address" from the second sentence of the first paragraph.
