The amount of such additional compensation is determined by the Court, subject to a maximum of $158,000 for accidents occurring on or after 1 January 1988. The employee is also entitled to apply for benefits under the disability allowance scheme.
Lump sums are awarded instead of periodical payments for the same reasons as those given in the answer. to Article 5.

The various provisions of the Employees' Compensation Ordinance dealing with measures of supervision and, methods of reviewing compensation are as follows :

(i) Under section 17..of the ordinance, an agreement drawn up between the injured employee and the employer which has been approved by the Commissioner for Labour may, on application, made' an order of the Court.. Furthermore, the Court may, on application by any party concerned within six months after the date of the Commissioner's approval of the agreement, cancel the agreement and make such order as the Court may think fit;

Section 19 of the ordinance provides that any periodical payments, made either under an agreement between the parties under an order of the Court, may be reviewed by the Court on application by either the employer or the employee;

Under section 23, an appeal can be made to the Court of Appeal against any order of the Court within 30 days from the date of the order of the Court; and
(iv) (a) with effect from 14 June 1985, the Commissioner for Labour is empowered under section 16A (2) to issue certificates of
compensation assessment in respect of injuries involving no permanent incapacity. Under section 16A(3), the employer or the injured employee may, within 14 days of the issue of the certificate, make an objection to the amount of compensation assessed to the Commissioner who is required to review the assessment. Section 16B further provides that the Court may, on application within six months of the date of issue of the certificate, cancel a certificate and make such order as the Court thinks fit.
