1. My letter of 3 March to Hong Kong (copy attached for ease pof reference) sought further data demonstrating their compliance with developed country phase out schedules in order to obtain a reprieve from the trade controls which will be imposed from 10 August 1993. The additional data has been sent under cover of Ms Siu's letter of 8 March and I should be grateful if Ms Godfrey could confirm by close of play 12 March that she is now in a position to submit the data to the Protocol Secretariat. I will, of course, advise Hong Kong accordingly. -

Ms Siu has also provided, under cover of her letter of 6 March, copies of the Ozone Layer Protection Ordinance and Regulations. I should be grateful for your views by close of play 24 March whether these are suitable to be used as model legislation by the other Dependent Territories.
